Preview for Sunday Morning Political Talk Shows on June 8, 2008

Although the Presidential Primary Races have ended, the Sunday Morning Talk Shows continue to focus on Clinton, Obama, and McCain. ABC's This Week will feature a general election geared debate between Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA) will discuss Democratic party unity. NBC's Meet the Press, which will air at an earlier time this Sunday, will host another panel of pundits to talk politics. CBS's Face the Nation has a full line-up to assess the Democratic party position featuring Clinton campaign director Howard Wolfson, Rep. Charlie Rangle (D-NY) and Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA). Fox News Sunday will showcase two people that are listed as potential Vice Presidential picks for Obama and McCain, Gov. Tim Kaine (D-VA) and Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN).

Unemployment Rate Shows Biggest Increase during Bush Administration

The U.S. unemployment rate rose half a point from last month to 5.5. The May 2008 statistics marks the biggest unemployment increase during the Bush Administration, the sharpest since 1986 when it rose from 6.7 in January to 7.2 in February.

Regarding the increase, the Bush Administration's Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao said, "Today's increase in the unemployment rate reflects the fact that unusually large numbers of students and graduates are entering the labor market."

Diane Feinstein Details the Secret Obama Clinton Meeting

News broke yesterday that Hillary Clinton met with Barack Obama for a private conversation. The hour long meeting occured at fellow senator Diane Feinstein's house in D.C.

Climate Bill Not Expected to Pass Senate Tomorrow

The Senate is scheduled to vote on the motion to invoke cloture on S.A.4825 the substitute amendment to the Climate Security Act of 2008, more commonly referred to as the Climate Bill.

The bill's co-sponsors don't expect to have the 60 votes needed to end cloture and move the bill to a floor vote.
