Sunday Morning Mashup of ABC THIS WEEK: Former President Jimmy Carter via satelite from Katmandu spoke to ABC's This Week about his upcoming Middle East meetings, the work of the Carter Center, the Olympics, and democratic politics past and present.. "You may or may not remember that on the reviewing stand at the convention, after I clearly defeated Senator Kennedy 2-to-1, he refused to shake my hand, ostentatiously, and made it clear to his supporters that he was not supporting me. So, you know, that was a situation that I think, I hope was unique in American Democratic politics. And I don't have any doubt, at this point, that no matter who wins at the Democratic convention, that the other candidate and all of the Democratic delegates will fully support the one who is finally chosen."
LISTEN TO THE AUDIO...Carter also spoke about his intent not to endorse any candidate until the Democratic election, the Olympics, and his work abroad. Hillary and Barack will get along as friends, just as they were before the race began. The big problem, the underestimated and under-appreciated biggest problem, is whether or not their supporters can forgive each other. In the latest poll taken, 1 out of 5 Obama's supporters say that they will not vote for Hillary and will likely stay at home during the night the election.

The big problem, part 2: Hillary's supporters are more die-hard: 1 of 3 of her supporters say that they plan to vote for McCain if Hillary is not chosen. This is a huge and realistically irreversible problem. The mud-slinging, race-bating, gender-bashing, and media-bias has made supporters of both parties incredibly angry.
